Shanghai's international high schools opened their 2026 autumn admissions together, and Shanghai United International School's Wanyuan campus published a full schedule. The date to circle is Saturday 21 March - its exam morning, its open day afternoon, and the same day several other leading schools test.
SUIS Wanyuan on 21 March
- Entrance exam: 9:00-11:00 at 509 Pingji Road, Minhang - a mathematics paper, an English paper and an English interview run in one continuous session, with results telephoned within a week
- Open day: 12:30-15:00 the same day at the same address - admissions policy, campus culture, overseas-progression talks, time with teaching staff and a campus tour
- Registration: online in advance for both, with the exam confirmed by email and the open day by text message the day before
The wider calendar
- Ulink Shanghai: first sitting 21 March - compulsory for two-year (AS or IBDP) applicants - second sitting 18 April; English, mathematics and scientific thinking, with Chinese or English papers by background
- WLSA Shanghai: assessed sittings 21 March, 25 April and 27 June; bilingual mathematics and English with composition
- WFLMS: first sitting the afternoon of 29 March - mathematics, English and Chinese in one sitting - with a second round expected in June
- Pinghe: registration closes 22 March, exam the afternoon of 28 March; candidates choose between a Chinese-set and an English-set mathematics paper at registration, and the choice cannot be changed
- Guanghua Cambridge: four sittings, starting the morning of 28 March, then 25 April, 23 May and 27 June; state-system candidates sit mathematics in Chinese, international-curriculum candidates in English
Planning around the clash
With several schools testing on 21 March, the workable plan is one or two genuine first choices, checked for paper language and programme length, with the calendar built around their dates - and open days used before the decision, not after. Registration deadlines differ by school, and the earliest close before the first exams are sat.
