Structure
Fourteen chapters across the four question families.
The course follows the AMC 8's own weighting — algebra, geometry, number theory and counting — from foundations to contest level, pitched for grades 4 to 8 at different starting points.
Algebra
Ratio and proportion, fractions and percentages, equations and word problems, sequences — the computation-heavy core of the paper.
Geometry
Similar triangles and the Pythagorean theorem, circles, quadrilaterals - with the area methods the paper rewards.
Number theory
Primes and factorisation, digits and divisibility - drilled until the divisibility rules are reflexes.
Counting and probability
Counting principles, permutations and combinations, and probability by careful counting - casework, exclusion and enumeration as working habits.
