Mathematics
- AMC2020: AMC 8 put 19 in the global top 5% and 10 in the top 1%; the US test cohort qualified for the AIME at 93.3%, with two students at 10+ reaching the USAMO line
- 2021February: AMC 10 high of 135 and AMC 12 high of 139.5, with 98 seniors qualifying at 56%. November: 102 qualifications at 53.1%, AMC 8 with three scores of 24, and an AIME high of 14
- Euclid2021: 33 Distinctions at a 50% award rate, four students above 90
- TournamentsBMT 2020: the only perfect calculus score in the world, a China top-3 in algebra and a team second prize. DMM 2021: nine students to the global round — 4 individual Golds, a team Gold and Best Power Round, with teams 13th, 19th and 21st globally
- ARML2020: top 20 in the West China division, top 100 in South China, and a team Bronze into the challenge round
- UKMT & COMC2020: two students into BMO Round 2, one in the global top 20; 2021: two students reached the Canadian Mathematical Olympiad winter camp
Physics & modelling
- Physics Bowl2021: Division 1 placings of 4th, 15th and 38th in the world; Division 2 placings of 1st, 3rd, 4th, 16th and 50th
- BPhO2020: six Round 1 Super Golds at a 70% award rate; 2021: eight Super Golds, and two Golds at Round 2
- PUPC2020: the only Gold awarded worldwide; 2021: 14 global awards including a 21st place
- BAAO & SIN2021: a global Gold in the junior astronomy division; SIN put seven students in the global top 150 in 2020
- HiMCM2020: an Outstanding paper with 3 Finalist, 6 Meritorious and 13 Honorable Mention teams; 2021: Outstanding again with 3 Finalists. IMMC 2021: all three teams promoted, one taking the Greater China Outstanding award internationally
Chemistry & biology
- UKChO2020: nine Golds including 2nd, 9th and 10th nationally; 2021: eleven Golds
- CanadaCCC 2020: nine global excellence awards; 2021: eight excellence awards and 13 Golds, with CCO adding a Gold and eight Bronzes
- USNCO2019 closed with seven Golds including the national top score — the platform these seasons built on
- USABO/BBO2020: 18 USABO Golds with the national #3, and 9 BBO Golds with the national #10; 2021: 21 USABO Golds with the national #5, and BBO's national #1 and #3
- IHBB2020–21: all four students promoted to the global round, with a second place at the regional final
Computing, business & economics
- USACO2020–21: 11 Platinum, 18 Gold and 25 Silver promotions
- FBLA2020–21: eleven teams to the global final, a global top-15 in Marketing, and second in the world in Banking & Financial Systems — the first Chinese top-3 in that event
- MEC2020: the national final, with the best-marketing award
- CNEC2020: all seven teams promoted to the final; 2021: a national #1 team total in the David Ricardo division
- Kaggle2020: a competition Bronze, following 2019's Gold
Humanities, writing & research
- IOL2021: four individual Golds at the China round — Hanlin students made up half of IOL Team China
- John Locke2020: four shortlistings with High Commendations in history and philosophy; 2021: 13 shortlisted and six High Commendations
- New York Times2020: two Summer Reading Honorable Mentions plus an editorial-contest Finalist; 2021: a further Summer Reading Honorable Mention. River of Words added a poetry Finalist and Bow Seat a prose winner in 2020
- Yau Award2020: twelve students into the final, eight taking global Golds, with 32 semifinal awards; 2021: eight finalists and 22 semifinal awards
- ResearchSTS 2020–21: six Top-300 scholars across five US states; JSHS a national qualifier; CTB a national first prize with global promotion; CWSF a regional Silver
- CampsRoss offers: four in 2020 and five in 2021, with AwesomeMath alongside
