Sitting the AMC in China.
Hanlin is an authorised AMC-China test point and has arranged AMC sittings for more than 7,000 students across successive seasons. The season calendar
The 2026–27 dates, deadline first.
The deadline is what stops most entrants, not the paper. Dates are the organiser's published schedule — always confirm the current cycle before planning.

Admission-ticket collection windows for 2026–27 have not yet been published — they appear shortly before each paper. Scores are published four to six weeks after the sitting, with cutoffs and certificates at six to eight weeks. The AIME I date is announced by the organiser to qualified candidates. The entry fee published in the pre-registration notice is ¥120 per sitting, paid for the organiser's account.
Why a test point matters
What sitting through Hanlin actually handles.
The AMC cannot be entered as a walk-in individual in China — a candidate needs a seat at an authorised test point, and the seats close on the registration deadline.
An authorised seat
Hanlin holds AMC-China committee authorisation and MAA AMC school certificates, published on the about page. Registration, the admission ticket and the sitting itself all run through the test point.
The deadline watched for you
A-paper registration closes ten days before the contest, and late candidates can still take the B paper — but only if someone is tracking both dates. That is part of the service.
A bilingual paper
The China sitting provides the paper in English and Chinese, which removes reading speed as a hidden variable for younger candidates — the mathematics is identical.
Results followed through
Scores, award cutoffs and certificates arrive on the organiser's own schedule in the weeks after the paper; AIME qualification follows automatically once the fixed qualifying scores are met — 100 on the AMC 10, 85 on the AMC 12, per the MAA's 2027 rules.
Where the AMC leads
Five levels, one ladder.
Each rung has its own page with the paper, the marking and the cutoffs in full.
AMC 8
Grade 8 and below, and under 15.5 — the age ceiling the MAA raised from 14.5 for 2026. Twenty-five questions in forty minutes, no penalty for a wrong answer.
AMC 10 and AMC 12
Seventy-five minutes, twenty-five questions: 6 for a correct answer, 1.5 for a blank, 0 for a wrong one. AMC 12 adds trigonometry and advanced algebra; neither touches calculus.
AIME
Fifteen integer-answer questions, sat from 2027 as two 90-minute parts (eight questions, then seven). Qualification is now a fixed score — 100 or above on the AMC 10, 85 or above on the AMC 12, per the MAA.
USA(J)MO
From the 2027 cycle, qualification is based primarily on AIME scores — AMC scores are no longer a factor, and the old score-plus-20×AIME index is retired, per the MAA.
IMO
